Vladimír Špidla, European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities launched the ‘For Diversity.Against Discrimination.’ Truck Tour on 21 June in Prague, Czech Republic.

Opening the day of activities, the Commissioner took part in a panel discussion on discrimination issues, tried the ‘Ability Park’ wheelchair course which provides an insight for non-disabled people into the problems that disabled people face everyday, and had his photograph taken holding one of the letters of the word ‘Respect’ to show his support for a society free of discrimination.

The day’s programme also included the theatre piece “What is discrimination?”, and performances by G*apeels, a group of young female singers performing a cappella, as well as BA-TO-CU, a music and dance band playing traditional rhythms from West Africa.
